Detached House in Southbrough

This new four bedroom house was designed to replace a dilapidated old cottage which was beyond repair and had to be demolished.

On an unusually tight plot, set in the middle of social housing, the project design had to address major planning issues including massing, overlooking, overbearing and privacy distances from existing properties. Despite the constraints, the client wanted a large house, so distances and design were issues. Access had to be via an existing driveway, which proved a challenge for the positioning of the new garages and providing adequate access, as well as a workable garden.
